Rutland County Museum
Bringing Rutland’s heritage to life, featuring a revamped County Museum and a
digital recreation of the famous Rutland Water Ichthyosaur and Roman mosaic.
The existing Rutland County Museum provides the perfect location for housing these two digital exhibits, securing footfall and visitor activity which is distributed across Oakham’s commercial centre for the benefit of the whole town.
Combined with the current collection that celebrates Rutland’s rural heritage, the digitised exhibits will create a high-quality, must-see cultural destination for the area and the wider East Midlands.
The new exhibits will be housed at the existing Rutland County Museum, on Catmos Street in Oakham.
The funding will allow for the creation of two digital exhibits, securing footfall and visitor activity which is distributed across Oakham’s commercial centre for the benefit of the whole town.
